Historic news hatched on Bushy Island/Mountshannon as two White Tailed Sea Eagles successfully bred and hatched two chicks. This is the first successful hatch in over 100 years of the White Tailed Sea Eagles in Ireland. These birds can be easily viewed form Mountshannon Harbour using viewing scopes. Congratulation to Allan Mee and his team from the Golden Eagle Trust and to the local community who are actively working voluntary to help safe-guard these magnificent birds and their chicks. Thanks also to Nigel Beers-Smith who is keeping a close eye with his long lenses as he records the activity of these eagles for several months. We look forward to his Documentary in the near future.
